This month Nannas Day Nurseries on Hawthorn Avenue have delighted in acheiving the highest possible quality mark from the National Day Nurseries Association!
The e-Quality programme the setting undertook included compiling a profile of evidence over the last three years. The nursery then received a full day inspection by NDNA Quality Inspector Ann Abineri in November 2016. This month (March 2017) Nannas received the incredible news that they had achieved the highest grade possible in this quality award at Level3 across the board!
The inspection and profile documented all aspects of the nursery from partnership with parents, work in the community, healthy living and lifestyles, learning and development and safeguarding children. The inspector stated in her report that the nursery displayed ’exemplary practice’. She went onto state that ‘The nursery is very well resourced and offers a welcoming, stimulating and warm environment which facilities exploration and curiosity. Positive and strong relationships were clearly evident between children and adults with staff clearly aware of when to support and when to facilitate independence of action and thought’
Nursery Manager Emily Simpson said ‘We are incredibly proud of this achievement, gaining this award at the highest possible level and receiving recognition for all of the practitioner’s hard work and commitment to both the children and the setting is incredible’. The nursery held celebrations throughout the week with their children including a Teddy Bears picnic, inviting the local newspapers in to report on their amazing achievement!
