Winter Term News 2019!

In September we held our annual Forest School Parent training session at Highwoods Country park. It was a great turn out from all three nurseries lots of families came along! The children created mud faces, built dens out of sticks, created forest curtains, whittled sticks using potato peelers, created floor art and even made their very own smores on the camp fire created by Forest School Leader Mikey! The parents loved seeing the variety of things that the children get up to when they attend forest school and enjoyed participating in these activities too.

In October we celebrated Grandparents Day by inviting all of the children's grandparents into the nursery for tea and cake. The Grandparents all sat together and shared a cup of tea before going to see their Grandchildren in their nursery rooms and spending some time with them and their peers. The children showed great pride showing their Grandparents where they play and the garden area too.

Halloween was celebrated with our annual competition, lots of pumpkin carving took place and the children created their own designs to carve out pumpkins, taking it in turns to spoon out the insides and explore these using thier hands. They also loved dressing up on the day of the competition, lots of effort was put in by all!

Our Annual General Meeting took place in December, we celebrated all of the achievements at Nannas during 2019! Awards were given for the Best Uniform 2019, EYFS champion, Team Player 2019, Best Newcomer 2019, Paperwork Champion, Practitioner of the year 2019 and Overall Practitioner of the year 2019. We had a lovely buffet created by Nursery Chef's Jodie King and Annette Parry, lots of sweets and lots of laughs ending in the famous funny slideshow created by Area Manager Hayley Chart.

We ended the year with a week long of Christmas Celebrations including a visit from Father Christmas and his reindeer, Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, Nativity plays and Christmas parties!
